"Just Stand Up!" is a song featuring the vocals of an all-star
group of pop/R&B/rock performers, including Mariah Carey, Beyoncé,
Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Natasha
Bedingfield, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Carrie Underwood, Keyshia Cole,
LeAnn Rimes, Ashanti and Ciara. American song-writer and producer
Antonio "L.A." Reid conceived the collaboration after a meeting with
the founder of Stand Up to Cancer, which will benefit from the proceeds
of the record. Reid co-produced the track with American singer Kenneth
"Babyface" Edmonds, and the single was released on August 29, 2008. All
featured singers performed "Just Stand Up!" live on the "Stand Up to
Cancer" telethon which aired simultaneously on ABC, CBS and NBC on
September 5."
I just wanted to blog real quick and say how deeply moved I was by the show tonight. Kudos to everyone who put it on, and let’s do what we can to make sure that it’s not just about tonight, but everyday.
Thank you to everyone who donated, and I have to give kudos to David Archuleta’s Angels for their Crush Kids’ Cancer Team. They set a goal of $25,000, and exceeded it, raising $31,215.80, according to standup2cancer.org. WAY TO GO!!!
I also have to mention (proud parent of sorts), that “The Cookie Jar,” Cpt. Bridget Browne, standing with David Cook, also exceeded their goal.
Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for all the support you’ve shown with this. It means the world to me and I’m glad to see everyone rally up.
I just want to remind you about the Stand Up to Cancer program that will be airing tonight on ABC, NBC, and CBS and hope you guys will all show your (support) and stand up to cancer!
Also the song ‘Just Stand Up!’ is amazing! It was really touching to listen to and just wanted to let you guys know about it. Have a good one everybody and don’t forget to show your support!

UPDATES FROM THE MIDWEST & A HEARTFELT MENTION FOR THE SOUTH
Hey everyone. I'm here in Minnesota for our day off and am on my way to the airport for Wisconsin. I've been recording today, which is what I do on my days off lately haha. But I love it! It's so much fun. Some recent things that have happened were our Minnesota show, and 2 Kansas City shows. All the crowds were amazing! And it was really special to be in Cook's hometown.
Another thing that happened this week is that I got the rough cut of the 'Crush' video! It was so crazy to see a professional video done for me, and I can't wait for you guys to see it. It was cool watching how a video comes together right from the beginning of the video treatment and hearing the idea of the director, to seeing it come to life with the cameras, cast, and music haha. It's still hard having to watch yourself, but you have to make sure everything looks good for everyone to see haha. I'm getting a little better with that though.
On a more serious matter, I just want to make sure we remember everyone in the South who are dealing with the storms down there. My family in Florida have struggled quite a bit with hurricane experiences and it's always a scary thing. So just remember to keep them in your prayers and hope the best for them.
